1. To replenish (a pasture, lawn, or field) by adding more seeds over top of the existing vegetation (as opposed to tilling and replanting the land).
2. To sow excessively, at overdensity of seeds per unit area.<!--This sense exists but is not what is usually meant by the word. Compare {{m|en|oversow}} though.-->
