Strategy Tips

Maximize Premium Squares

Place high-value letters (J, Q, X, Z) on double or triple letter squares. Try to extend words to reach triple word squares for massive scores.

Look for Bingos

Using all 7 tiles earns a 50-point bonus. Look for 7+ letter words that hook onto existing tiles. Our solver highlights bingo opportunities.

Consider Defense

The highest-scoring move isn't always the best. Avoid opening triple word squares for your opponent when you have a strong rack.

Learn Two-Letter Words

Words like QI, ZA, XI, and XU are essential for playing high-value letters in tight spots. Check our two-letter word list.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Scrabble board solver work?

Enter letters already on the board by clicking cells and typing. Then enter your rack tiles (up to 7 letters, use ? for blanks) and click Search. The solver analyzes all possible placements and shows you the highest-scoring moves, including cross-words and premium square bonuses.

What's the difference between Scrabble and Words With Friends boards?

While both games use a 15x15 board, the premium square positions are different. Scrabble has the center star as a double word score, while WWF has a regular center square. The letter point values also differ between the two games. Our solver supports both layouts.

How do I enter blank tiles?

For tiles already on the board, hold Shift while typing the letter to mark it as a blank. For your rack, use a question mark (?) or space character to represent blank tiles. Blank tiles score 0 points but can be any letter.

Does the solver account for cross-words?

Yes! The solver validates all cross-words formed by each play and includes their scores in the total. Invalid cross-words will exclude a potential play from the results.

What is a bingo in Scrabble?

A bingo (or bonus) is when you use all 7 tiles from your rack in a single play, earning an extra 50 points. Our solver identifies and highlights these high-scoring opportunities.

Why are some moves not showing up?

The solver only shows valid moves that form real words and valid cross-words. If a potential word would create an invalid cross-word, it won't appear in results. Also, ensure all board tiles are entered correctly.
