1. A flotation method in which the material to be separated is adsorbed on the surface of gas bubbles in a liquid and is collected on an upper layer of an immiscible liquid

3. In Hegelian philosophy, the situation where a tension between contradictory opposites is resolved by the addition of a new term which pushes the old opposition into its relation.
